Gift Guide: Mondor Tights

When my sister and I were kids and through our teen years, we were dancers. Laura actually went onto dance through university, and we both taught ballet and jazz for many years. When it came to wearing tights, we knew our stuff: which ones felt right, didn't pull, had enough stretch, were soft enough yet not too hot, not too see-through yet not too thick, washed well, didn't shrink -- quite the criteria to impress a discerning dancer.

Funnily enough, dance tights often fit the bill, but consumer brands didn't. We often wore dance tights as kids when it came to special occasions. We knew what we liked and what we didn't.

Obviously we weren't the only ones who felt this way. Mondor has been making dance tights for as long as I can remember; when I was a kid they specialized in tights for figure skaters, but have since expanded their repertoire to all forms of dance, gymnastics and skating. And if that's not enough, they have a line of Fashion Legwear for Ladies and Children.

Here's what Mondor got absolutely right: they kept the quality of their dance legwear and translated it into fashion. As soon as I put on these tights, they felt just like ones I wore as a kid.

But today's post is about toddlers, right? Mondor has an entire line dedicated to kids, which I just recently learned about. I've been guilty of buying other brands in the past that pill and shrink -- imagine my delight when I discovered Mondor Bambina. They come in a variety of fashion forward colours, are silky soft to the touch and wash beautifully.

So is this a gift your toddler will love? Likely not, unless they are a little dancer-in-training, but if you're looking for a great stocking stuffer, or some tights to wear under your LO's party dress, look no further than Mondor.

Disclosure: I received tights to try for this blog post. As always, the opinions expressed on Simply Suppa are my own.
