I was recently asked to participate in a video for Mackenzie Health Hospital. As you all know, my daughter spent her first couple of months in the NICU at the hospital there and I can't say enough about the level of care and love we received from the nurses and doctors.
I've since helped organize the first-ever (and annual) NICU Picnic and have become an (unofficial) advocate for prematurity awareness.
Last week, Mackenzie Health held their annual gala and raised close to $900,000. This money will go back into the hospital and the development of the new Mackenzie Health Vaughan Campus, which will open in just a few years.
I hope to never have to use the NICU again, but if I absolutely had to, I'd know first-hand the care at my local hospital is top notch.
