Haunting Fun at Canada's Wonderland

Full disclosure -- I'm a wuss. Like, pure chicken, scaredy cat, crybaby, etc. I don't like horror movies, scary movies, fear factor and all that jazz. And yet, last week, I put on my big girl panties and Donny and I went to Halloween Haunt at Canada's Wonderland. Frankly, I was afraid I'd be peeing those panties.

Holy crap.

I knew it was going to scary, of course. It's called Haunt, for crying out loud. And I know they're all actors and it's not real -- blah, blah, blah. But guys, if you like to be scared, like getting the sh*t freaked out of you, I highly suggest you go. Because it's really, very well done.

Firstly, the majority of the park has been transformed into spooky scenes, complete with dry ice and eerie music. This, in itself, is super impressive. And then there are the Haunted Attractions - everything from a freaky corn maze, a completely pitch black zone, a haunted manor, a catacomb of human remains in the Crypt (new for 2019) plus a 4D Interactive Zombie Ride.

But even if you don't venture into the haunted houses and bloodshed factories, you will still jump out of your pants as you attempt to walk through the 6 different scare zones, where characters literally come to life. Even when you know it's coming, it's still terrifying.

And some of them chase you. Not kidding.

If you want to give your heart a break, you can catch one of three Supernatural Shows, featuring acrobats and entertainers you'd never meet anywhere else.

And then, of course, there are the rides, which don't seem as scary anymore. Kidding.

But you can have the opportunity to ride the Behemoth, Leviathan and many more gravity-defying attractions in the pitch black, which, Donny tells me, makes them even more gratifying. I'll take his word for it.

Haunt at Canada's Wonderland is open every weekend until Halloween from 7 pm to midnight, and is not recommended for kids under 13. For the youngsters and those who prefer G-rated scares, Camp Spooky runs every Saturday and Sunday through to October 28 and is free with your season's pass. More to come on that.

Happy Haunting.
