Celebrating Canada All Month Long

In honour of Canada Day, Canada’s Wonderland is rolling out the lumberjack carpet with an entire month of festivities, food and attractions, dubbed Celebration Canada. After a highly successful event last year to commemorate Canada’s 150, Celebration Plaza is back, and starting June 30, you can take advantage of a little extra Canadiana when you visit the park. It’s time to soak up the sun AND the maple syrup!

Must-sees include the West Coast Lumberjack Show — this travelling duo is at the park for two weeks showcasing their chippy tricks and antics and the audience can get in on the lumber action, too. A great way to unwind while snacking on a peameal sandwich, or poutine, eh??

That’s right — exclusively for the month of July and spread throughout Celebration Plaza, indulge in Canadian faves and treats, like Wellington County Beef Sliders, Maple Sugar and Butter Poached Corn on the cob, Shrimp Mac ‘n’ Cheese and Wood Fire Pizza.

And for dessert, how about a deep fried blueberry butter tart with vanilla bacon ice cream a la mode and drizzled with maple syrup? If anything is giving the funnel cake a run for its money this month, it’s this tart and let me tell you: its. totally. worth. it.

If you’re looking for some respite from the heat, visit the air-conditioned Wonderland Theatre where Cirque Canadienne performs three times (2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm) daily and at 8 pm on Saturdays and Holidays. The troupe from Quebec is back once again with nail biting trapeze and acrobatic performances and this show is completely free with admission.

Also on the agenda, the Flying Frontenacs, the Craz-E-Crew Extreme Wheels Show and various street performances all in honour of our home and native land. Happy Canada Day!
