Did you know that when you "eat the rainbow", you're getting a variety of nutrients, vitamins and minerals from your food?
It's true, and a pretty easy parenting/life hack: add a medley of colourful fruits and vegetables to your child's plate and encourage them to do just that -- eat the rainbow.
You wanna know another parenting/life hack?
Make the vessel you're eating out of an interesting one.
I recently received this brand new Splash Set from Munchkin Canada aptly called Color Me Hungry. It's a 7-pc dining set that includes a divided plate, flat plate, bowl, cup with training lid, fork, knife, & spoon.
I was so excited to gift it to my (almost) 2-year-old nephew, although the girls really thought it was cute, too. The plates and bowls have grippy bottoms and deep walls for easy scooping and the cup has a training lid which will help self-drinking.
Lucas grabbed the utensils almost immediately; they're ergonomically designed for small hands and will be perfect for toddlers, pre-schoolers and young kids.
What's especially neat about this set is that it comes in a gift box with a unicorn-themed colouring activity, which allowed some playtime before mealtime. All the plates and bowls are BPA-free and dishwasher safe, which is an absolute must.
The Munchkin Splash Set can be found online at Babies R Us or on Amazon and retails for less than $30.
It was a big hit for our family and I'm sure it will be for yours, too!
